GenNext is the go-to gathering of young leaders, activists, philanthropists, and social entrepreneurs who want to create lasting change in Ottawa and beyond.
2020 has not been a year any of us could have predicted.
A global pandemic, devastating worldwide acts of climate catastrophe, an international consciousness-raising about structural inequities and systemic racism, and a tumultuous news cycle that just doesn’t seem to quit.
If there’s one thing we learned this year, it’s the importance of remaining adaptable—especially in times of crisis.
Our Mix & Mingles and other annual networking events make up a huge chunk of how we fundraise for GenNext. With in-person socializing out of the picture, we quickly pivoted to connect our community virtually!

In 2021, we’ve got some big things planned.
For us to continue to make meaningful change, we knew that adapting with the times was our only option. We can’t wait to bring you all along for the ride, and thank you again for being such fearless champions of the GenNext community, especially during such a difficult year.
Until then, you can continue to make an impact by joining our virtual events, subscribing to our newsletter, and helping us fundraise for United Way East Ontario’s COVID-19 response.

Support our COVID-19 response
Since March, United Way East Ontario has brought together partners and supporters from across Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark County and Renfrew County to help find and share innovative solutions, mobilize resources, and address the challenges created and amplified by the pandemic.
If you’re able, give to United Way’s COVID-19 response to help keep our communities’ most vulnerable people from falling through the cracks.
Facing Forward masks
With face masks being an integral part in helping the fight against COVID-19, we’re grateful for the opportunity to protect ourselves and those around us! 😷
You can do the same by purchasing United Way’s Facing Forward cloth masks to protect your classroom, your colleagues, and even your friends and families. Find them for individual purchase at 27 Circle K and Mac’s convenience stores across Ottawa, or place a bulk order on United Way’s website.
Proceeds from your purchase of Facing Forward masks will provide masks to those most in need in our communities—so you can protect your circle, and give back to your community at the same time!
